A quick thought on Burn the Koran Day

According to the latest numbers on the “International Burn The Koran Day” facebook page, 13,000 people are in favor of, or will be participating in the public burning of the Koran. Amazon.com sells to Koran from anywhere around $8 to $13, so instead of all these “Christians” buying Korans to burn, why not put this money towards something better? However in the minds of these people partaking in the burning, they are doing the right thing, probably to them the best service that they could do for their country. If there are 13,000 people in the group, and if they all contributed a to buying a Koran at around $8, then they would end up spending roughly $100,000 for a political gesture– a slap in the face of Jesus Christ. There is no way this will spread the Gospel, so why not give that money so the Good News could be furthered? There is a lot that the Christian community could do with $100,000. Perhaps we should get an estimate of the people involved in the book burning on 9/11 and see how much money they wasted that could have been given to share to Good News of Jesus Christ.
This group was started by “Christians,” this, my brothers and sisters are how “Christians” are seen on this page:
(All of these are true, unedited posts of people on the page)

“Q. How did the Muslim adulteress cross the road?
A. She was dragged by her feet, kicking and screaming, then she was stoned to death by a baying lynch-mob of brainwashed psychopaths.”

“Q: What's the difference between a Muslim and a dead horse?
A. It's no fun beating a dead horse.”

“Q: What's the definition of a virgin in the Middle East?
A: Any camel that can run faster than a Muslim.”

(These three statements and many more like these were said by an American Marine)

“I'm going to steal two of them. One to burn, and one to wipe my ass with.”

“I would like to donate to the church by buying one of the "Krapons" that will be burned. I will call tomorrow to see how I can donate. Thank you so much for standing up for the founding principles of this great nation. My only regret is that I cannot be there to toss in my own match. I may be an LSU fan ;) , but you guys have all my love and appreciation.”
